Hey, I was wondering if I could talk to you about X-Flixel. I need some help when it comes to translating some of the demos on the flixel page to x-flixel. The biggest issue is that it seems rotated sprites aren't rendering the texture and it is a little frustrating. Have you thought about writing some documentation or tutorials?
Anything would be wonderful help.

I don't see any reason why XNA can't ultimately be made WinRT-compatible, which is why I'm willing to hold out until we know what the next version of XNA offers. If there's no Metro support at that point, then as far as I'm concerned, it's time to jump ship!

Glad you enjoyed Aesop's Garden!

It will be interesting to see what MS does. It seems like the reach-profile would be a good fit with the metro-style apps(?).

Either way, libraries that help devs port between frameworks and platforms have really seemed to flourished in the last years. Projects like x-flixel (which i just learned about after reading this post) are going to help provide important leverage for indies going forward.

P.S. Aesop's Garden was one of the first XBLIG games I bought, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep up the great work!

Hi Ben,

I just visited your blog to get your name in order to add you to the credits of our upcoming first XBLI game: Blocks That Matter.

We used your Flixel port and I have to say that it saved us some week of effort doing this!

I hope you allow us to credit you!? (silly question I guess). But for the from I was thinking of a thing like:
"Game powered by Flixel (Adam Atomic Saltsman)
C# port (X-Flixel) by Ben Baird (Excalibur Studios)"

What do you think ?

Thanks again for sharing X-Flixel with the world :]

And congratz for your 2 first games which are great! I'm a bit impatient to see your next one!

Cheers

I'm definitely still using it, and I looked over the slopes class a while back. It looks doable without too much trouble, but other priorities are distracting me from X-flixel updates for the time being.

Should have made standard SHMUP controls for like easy mode, and jetpack physics for hard/insane mode. that way the hardcores get what they want, and the casuals do too.
